Kris Ferraro graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1971, Itasca Community College in 1978, and in 1980 she graduated from Bemidji State University where she earned her accounting degree. She also is an alum of the Blandin Community Leadership Program (BCLP).
Ferraro became sole owner of Broberg & Ferraro, an accounting firm that specializes in income tax services for individuals and businesses, in January 2003 after 14 years as the firm’s co-owner.
She has been awarded the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce “Friend of the Chamber” Award (1993) the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants Public Service Award (1994).
Ferraro is a member and former chairperson of the Itasca Economic Development Corporation, a member of the Itasca Economic Development Advisory Council, board member of the Grand Rapids Library Foundation, former chairperson and board member of the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation, where she served as board chair in 2005, and a former board member of the School District 318 Endowment Fund.
