Itasca County Census Updates
One week to go! One final ask.
Data collection closes in 1 week – Wednesday, Sept 30.
Itasca County is sitting with a solid response rate – 55 percent of housing units have responded to the call. Largest increases through September 22 was in Moose Park township. Detailed self-response data for Itasca County is posted at the bottom of this page.
For those housing units who have not responded to the Census, there are workers doing the hard work of personal follow-up. For our NE Minnesota region, these workers have helped us reach 90 percent of housing units. Thank you Census workers!
Phone a friend
It’s the final countdown – now is the time for one final ask.
During the pandemic, the Census may have been overlooked in many households. The extra burdens placed on many may mean that the invitation to complete the Census got buried in a pile of other “to dos”. In this final week of Census self-response, give your friends and neighbors a call, see how they are doing. Ask if you can help them complete their Census form. It matters for them and for our community.
Households can respond until midnight on September 30 at www.my2020census.gov or by phone at 844-330-2020.
Paper forms must be postmarked September 30 and arrive at the Census Bureau before October 7.
As the count wraps up, we want you to know how much we appreciate that we could count on you to step up and make the Census a priority in your community.
As we tell our leadership program participants: you are the leaders we have been waiting for!
Thank you for everything you have accomplished: flyers and phone calls, signs and meetings – it all adds up to building a strong future for Itasca County! We especially appreciate you finding space in your life during the COVID pandemic – that’s leadership in action.
So take a moment, next week, to celebrate your successes, and your community. And share your story, so we – and the entire Itasca area – can celebrate too!
